The Brief

When it comes to hospitals, provisions such as heating and hot water are crucial to their operation – plus the health, wellbeing and safety of patients, staff and visitors. If the wellbeing of these people is compromised at all, it could place those who are most vulnerable in danger. It is why that in the event of a boiler failure, a quick remedy is needed.

A ward within a major community hospital in east London found itself without heating and hot water, leaving the health and safety of staff and patients in jeopardy. Ideal Heat Solutions was called upon to provide a temporary boiler that would ensure a minor issue wouldn’t spiral into a large problem.

The Objective

The client is a long-standing Ideal Heat Solutions customer. The client has used Ideal Heat Solutions previously and came to the temporary boiler provider for its unrivalled service and expertise. The client knew their needs would be met and could rely on the timescales that we provided to get the boiler up and running and keep their ward fully functional.

The client made the first point of contact at 10:00am. The requirement was to have the hot water up and running the same day.

The ward that the hot water was needed for contained very vulnerable patients. Getting the hot water back up and running was extremely critical to the patient’s wellbeing and the staff’s ability to perform their roles.

On this project, Ideal Heat Solutions provided its 250kW oil-fired containerised boiler. An unbeatable temporary boiler with 92% fuel efficiency rating, the 250kW is a reliable temporary boiler that reflected the needs of this project. As well as being robust and easy-to-install, the temporary boiler has in-built IQ Vision monitoring technology so the engineers can ensure it performs as intended.

The client enjoys working with Ideal Heat Solutions’ engineers and the extra mile that the team goes for the client. Ideal Heat’s OFTEC engineers can work alongside clients’ teams to ensure existing systems are able to have their plant connected to it, always going above and beyond for clients.

Thanks to Ideal Heat Solutions expertise, hot water supply was up and running by 17:00 the same day. Healthcare emergency situations are very stressful for the customers, and heat and hot water are critical requirements for the patient’s care and wellbeing of staff.

From call for the order to installation, the hot water was brought back to the ward within seven hours – an impressive feat that was no doubt a result of Ideal Heat Solutions’ skill, experience and expertise.
