Our client was the Senior Quantity Surveyor of a large energy services company. Construction of a large property development was in progress with some apartments approaching completion. The client required a temporary boiler to be connected to one of the buildings which contained twelve flats on three floors. The boiler was needed for two purposes, initially for screed drying in the apartments and later on, to provide heat to more buildings within the development. A temporary 250 kW boiler was specified to provide Low Temperature Hot Water (LTHW) to the site.
The 250kW boiler gave the client enough extra capacity to open up other parts of the heating circuits to feed further buildings on the development.
The boiler needed to be installed to a set schedule to enable the project deadlines to be met. Ideal heat Solutions liaised with the client to ensure correct connections were in place. The temporary boiler could then be installed by our team of installation engineers with no delays. Once installed, the temporary boiler could be connected to different sections of the heating circuit to provide heat to more buildings on the development as the need arose.
The Technical Part
After establishing the precise needs at the time and potential needs in the future, the Ideal Heat team outlined the temporary boiler’s electrical power requirements. We also highlighted the need for availability of isolation valves within the heating circuit.
Our specialist engineers installed a 250kW oil fired boiler complete with Trend BMS monitoring system. A single phase 25 amp power supply was utilised for the monitoring system. A 50 mm female BSP connection was specified on the flow and returns for connection to the heating circuit. Our boiler was supplied with the required hose length and a 3000 litre bunded fuel tank. This boiler is expected to be on site for a period of six months.
